Lower East Side

Heights Kenchi

Established in 2009.

Originally started as a men’s tailored shirt company, The Designers would personally accommodate everyone’s busy lifestyle to take each client’s measurements at the location of their choosing, always ending up in a great conversation, an exchange of ideas and always laughs shared. They decided to expand and open up a small shop which would embody the feel of the brand and named it The Standing Room by HEIGHTS+KENCHI.

Located in  Manhattans East Village the location was chosen for it seclusion.  After their Haberdashery opened their clients would comedown to get measured and sometimes just hang out.  The decor is reminiscent of Haberdashery in the 1920’s & 30’s. Everything from floor to ceiling has a story which the designers are more then happy to share with you.

Marrakesh Custom Tailors

The owner of Marrakech Custom Tailors has been working since the age of 14. At 20, he opened his own store in Morocco. After 3 or 4 years of working in this industry, he opened his own business. He loves creating difficult designs that most people can’t do.

They can take an old fur coat and make it stylish again by tailoring it to a shorter, more up-to-date design, for example. They have been repairing and custom designing clothes in both leather and fabric for women, men, and children for more than 40 years. Marrakech Custom Tailors creates anything to any specification. Draw the ideal suit, clip a picture from a magazine, or bring items by, and they will replicate them with a perfect fit.

Their shop also offers original, one-of-a-kind clothing, and they custom tailor accessories for the home or business. They perform repairs on all types of leather and suede goods, and their services are reasonably priced.

Hall Madden

In 2007, founders Richard Hall and McGregor Madden worked with “fast fashion” retailers and legacy brands that focused on speed and cost cutting – business principles that Hall and Madden understood, but didn’t personally agree with for building a modern company. With both experience in manufacturing and a love for menswear, Hall and Madden wanted to build a menswear brand focused around the customer – an experience that was simple and informative with high-quality products.

Mastering the suit was the first Hall Madden goal, a process that took 7 years to fully complete. The suit is a difficult product to manufacture and the United States is notorious for people wearing bad suits. Hall and Madden’s immediate goal became introducing the U.S. customer to a “Proper Suit” – one that was made and fitted the right way.

David Reeves is the creator and proprietor of REEVES.

Originally from a working-class town outside of Manchester in the North of England, David was never satisfied with the ordinary. Inspired by a Modernist ethos, David began getting his own suits custom made for himself as a teenager. As a young Graphic Arts student in Leeds, David was quickly swept up by the world of fine tailoring joining the Savile Row house Gieves & Hawkes at the age of 19.

Over the next 11 years David stayed in the business making his way up in the world of tailoring and fashion. He worked for many influential names in the UK and U.S.A such as Richard James of Savile Row, Prada, Commes Des Garcons and Timothy Everest. His roles where always client facing and he was entrusted to deal with many high profile clients including two British Prime Ministers, members of the English Aristocracy, and “Pop Royalty” such as Elton John, Bryan Ferry, Nick Cave and Paul McCartney.

In 2007 at the age of 30 he decided to establish his own business in New York.

Reeves is a small business that produces around 300 Bespoke suits per year, they are focused on quality Bespoke work exclusively, so they do not offer Made to Measure (MTM), shirts or accessories, rather they simply strive to make the finest Bespoke suits anywhere in the world. To this end David Reeves searches out and works with the very best cutters, tailors and finishers locally in NYC holding them to exceptionally high standards of production not often seen in the modern world. His fabrics and materials used are always the very best with “standard” cloths being high end cloths such as Loro Piana Tasmanian, Zegna Trofeo and Dormeuil Amadeus.

David has an extremely hands-on approach with his team and clients, he is involved in every aspect of production and works to form a longstanding relationship with every one of his clients.

The “house style” is unapologetically English with a strong Savile Row and usually more subtle Modernist influence, by constantly seeking out innovative and luxurious cloths they also have a creative and directional finish.
