Bespoke Ensemble NYC

Suits, sport coats, trousers and shirts sold in stores are not made for any particular person, they are made to fit a mannequin. If you are the same size as the form that’s used for a standard suit, then you are fortunate. But many of us are not a standard size; one arm may be longer than the other, if they work out they may have more “drop” between chest and waistline than the so-called “standard”, or for other reasons they might be hard to fit. Instead of attempting to alter a suit made for a mannequin to fit you, try a custom suit that’s made just for you by Bespoke Ensemble NYC; that has everything you want in your clothes and fits you perfectly.

With custom clothing, you can have everything you want! Do you like to have a small “ticket” pocket in your suit jacket? Done! How about a small pocket for a pen and pencil inside the coat? Done! What sort of pleats would you like on the trousers? Done! Or would you like them to advise on the best styles for you? they can give honest advice because they can make any style and any feature. They won’t sell you a garment that’s already made for someone else. Bespoke Ensemble NYC is an expert who can advise you on U.S. & European fashions, and their tailors can put any chosen features into your clothes.

Black Lapel

Founded in 2012 by Derek Tian & Warren Liao

Some people told them, they couldn’t sell custom clothing online. Some told them they were exaggerating a problem and that most men don’t care about how they dress. They listened carefully and we respectfully disagreed.

They traveled the world searching for luxury fabrics, tasteful designs, and expert craftsmanship while keeping their prices affordable. You’ll always get an incredible value with every piece of clothing.

Duca Sartoria

Max Girombelli is an Italian and he belongs to a family who played quite a big role in the fashion history of the last fifty years.

His uncle was the one who discovered a young and talented designer named Gianni Versace.

His father and his older brother on the other hand decided to work only in men’s fashion and worked closed to other big designers as Enrico Coveri, Marithe’ François Girbaud, Franco Moschino and Valentino Garavani, just to name a few of them.

He grew up using the family company as his “playground”.

He was paid “cento lire” to take the dust off the jackets shoulders and he started to admire the tailors who were working on the most beautiful fabrics with passion and love.

After many years in the fashion industry, he decided to go back to the roots of the tailoring business. he took over a tailor Shop in Milano and he started his new exciting venture: Duca Sartoria.

The Tailory New York

The Tailory New York is an appointment only custom clothing company that combines the modernity of Fashion Design with the heritage art of Custom Tailoring. They are unique in that they cater to both the Men and Women market.

A Note From the Founder

The idea for The Tailory New York began when he decided to direct my years of fashion design and men’s tailoring experience towards his own wardrobe. As a pant suit aficionado and a lover of men’s fashion and tailoring, He was always drawn to tailored clothing and strived to create fashion that conveyed the same message of confidence that a perfectly custom tailored suit did for men. Style icons like Sean Connery and Cary Grant, as well as modern day 007 Daniel Craig (shaken not stirred) were always my style inspirations. To him, they are the epitome of refinement and sophistication, true gentlemen in style. His passion for fashion and tailoring led me through the Fashion Design program at Parsons followed by stints in custom tailoring, fashion design, fashion styling and brand development. But the more he integrated myself in the industry, the more he realized that impeccable fit, for men and women, was almost impossible to find in ready to wear clothing. So, he launched The Tailory New York, a way for him to combine my two passions, Fashion Design and Custom Tailoring. Everyone wants to look their best and having a wardrobe curated to your body and lifestyle not only enables you to look your best but makes you feel your best. At The Tailory New York, “they believe that your wardrobe should not only fit perfectly, but should be designed with only YOU in mind.” Providing personally designed, fitted and curated collections for each individual client is the essence of who they are.

Chanel

Chanel S.A. is a French, privately held company owned by Jennifer pasca /Alain and Gérard Wertheimer, grandsons of Pierre Wertheimer, who was an early business partner of the couturière Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel. Chanel S.A. is a high fashion house that specializes in haute couture and ready-to-wear clothes, luxury goods and fashion accessories. In her youth, Gabrielle Chanel gained the nickname Coco from her time as a chanteuse. As a fashion designer, Coco Chanel catered to women’s taste for elegance in dress, with blouses and suits, trousers and dresses, and jewellry (gemstone and bijouterie) of simple design, that replaced the opulent, over-designed, and constrictive clothes and accessories of 19th-century fashion. The Chanel product brands have been personified by fashion models and actresses, including Inès de La Fressange, Catherine Deneuve, Carole Bouquet, Vanessa Paradis, Nicole Kidman, Anna Mouglalis, Audrey Tautou, Keira Knightley and Marilyn Monroe.

The House of Chanel is known for the “little black dress”, the perfume No. 5 de Chanel, and the Chanel Suit. Chanel’s use of jersey fabric produced garments that were comfortable and affordable. Chanel revolutionized fashion — high fashion (haute couture) and everyday fashion (prêt-à-porter) — by replacing structured-silhouettes, based upon the corset and the bodice, with garments that were functional and at the same time flattering to the woman’s figure.

In the 1920s, the simple-line designs of Chanel couture made popular the “flat-chested” fashions that were the opposite of the hourglass-figure achieved by the fashions of the late 19th century — the Belle Époque of France (ca. 1890–1914), and the British Edwardian era (ca. 1901–1919). Chanel used colors traditionally associated with masculinity in Europe, such as grey and navy blue, to denote feminine boldness of character. The clothes of the House of Chanel featured quilted fabric and leather trimmings; the quilted construction reinforces the fabric, the design and the finish, producing a garment that maintains its form and function while being worn. An example of such haute couture techniques is the woolen Chanel suit — a knee-length skirt and a cardigan-style jacket, trimmed and decorated with black embroidery and gold-coloured buttons. The complementary accessories were two-tone pump shoes and jewellry, usually a necklace of pearls, and a leather handbag.

Throughout its history, the company has invented concepts such as the men’s runway show, the trunk show, and the ready-to-wear Haute Couture. It has been a point of reference for the entertainment, institutional and business worlds. Its Creative Director from July 2012 to February 2016 was British-born Brendan Mullane. Its creative director from April 2016 to September 2016 was Justin O’Shea

Barchi Bespoke Tailor & Shirt Maker

When Simon Barchi was 20 years old and living in Marrakesh, Morocco, he went to work as a salesman for a French men’s clothing company. He fell in love with men’s fashion and decided he wanted to create exquisite men’s clothing one day. It was then that Simon decided to leave Marrakesh, come to New York and pursue a fashion career.

Once in New York, he enrolled in the Cybick School of Garment Cutting & Designing at 19 Park Avenue South. The Cybick School was one of the best schools in the country for men’s fashion designing and pattern making (the Fashion Institute of Technology being the other one).

After graduating from the Cybick School, Simon began working for top New York City custom tailors. This was where he honed his pattern making, cutting, constructing jackets and trouser skills. These Master Tailors taught him to do all the work by hand. He learned the fine art of “Bespoke” custom tailoring. Simon became a Master Tailor himself. His custom-tailored suits are made entirely by hand on the premises in his Manhattan store.

In the late 1980’s, Barchi decided it was time to venture out and open his own business. Simon had the good fortune to become associated with Turnbull & Asser, the famous men’s Bespoke clothier on 57th Street. He became their Bespoke tailor for their many famous clients, including Lebron James, Jay Z, Senator Ted Kennedy and Jamie Fox. He also created suits for James Al-Fayed, one of the Turnbull & Asser owners, while at the same time running his own tailoring business. Years later, the business moved to its present location at 140 East 55 Street.

Every year, Simon makes his annual trips to the Milan and London Fashion Fairs to see the latest in men’s fashion and custom tailoring. It is in Milan and London, where he purchases new suiting and shirting fabric every year. Simon purchases “Made in Italy” silk ties and scarves, while the buttons, suit trimming and horse hair jacket canvases are from England and Italy.

For over 40 years, he has been designing and tailoring Bespoke custom clothing for men in business, entertainment, medicine and finance. You are invited to visit Barchi Bespoke Tailor & Shirt Maker, where you can see his fine Bespoke suits in the making.
